My grandparents lived on the block of Loomis Boulevard that had the end of the "el" at that time. I don't know if that helps you place the cross street or not, but I'd love to see what that block looks like now. Their apartment building was not too far from the corner, maybe a half dozen buildings away as I recall. It was a gray brownstone looking building, three stories, with huge bay windows on each floor.; 4:04 AM
