A funny thing happened. . . .

I was out today with my father getting ready for the drive back from his beach home to Seattle. A new neighbor happened by and my father introduced me as his daughter. The lady smilingly looked at me and said, "Oh, and how old are you?" I paused rather taken aback. It has probably been 30 years since I was asked this question in quite that tone. However, seeing as how there was no reason to take offense, I replied (truthfully) that I was 45. At this my new acquaintance became quite flustered and explained that she didn't have her glasses on. I should hope not. I may look a bit young for my age, but it has been a long time since I was 15. I don't even get carded anymore.

self-portrait, watercolor

O.K. This is what I "really" look like. Except I ran it through Photoshop's watercolor function. I took this picture using the timer. I'm amazed I didn't chop my head off or something. By the way, I'm terribly camera-shy.

Happy New Year from one camera shy person to another. I had to look long and hard for the picture I am using. I hope this coming year is filled with joy and pleasure.

I'm camera shy too...but yes, I do post pics of myself on my blog, but only after a lot of scrutiny! Kudos for being brave!

Very nice to put a face to go with the words :)

I love photoshop, don't you? I am not incredibly camera shy, but I'm also not very photogenic. Bad combination because I now have many, many really awful photos of myself. :-(

How do you like your camera, btw? (Flickr said it was the Canon XT.)
