New Template

I changed my template. I liked the old one but wanted to make some minor adjustments to widths of columns and so on. The problem was I couldn't figure out how to do this and keep the rounded corners where they belonged. So I'm trying this template which has square edges. My first few efforts at modifying the template myself weren't so hot, so I'm leaving it as Blogger created it for the time being. So far, I find this template a little boring. I'd like to change the header to a design of my own, for one thing. Since this requires a bit more work and knowledge it may take me a while.
Today being yet another work day, I have to keep my responsibilities in mind. It is amazing how earning a living intrudes on one's hobbies.
Comments welcome, as ever.

here is how i did it:

Before editing your template, always make a backup copy.

To put a picture behind the words of your header, near the top of your template, find this:

#header {
margin: 5px;
border: 1px solid #ffffff;
text-align: center;
color:#32527a;
}

And replace with this:

#header {
margin: 5px;
border: 1px solid #ffffff;
text-align: center;
color:#32527a;
background:url(URL-TO-IMAGE-GOES-HERE);
}

Put the url to your uploaded image between the parenthesis, as I've indicated.

If you want to DELETE the header that's there and REPLACE it with an image, it's a different method. and I don't know how to do that.

If you want more options to colors for the background, click this link
http://www.htmltricks.com/htmlcolortips.htm and choose a color, then go back to your template, html stuff, select the expand widget box and find where it says "background color" and replace it with whatever code you like.

good luck!

Looks great. Maybe I'll gather enough courage to change mine after the New Year.

Thanks to self taught artist for all the cool html info. I want to change my template too, but my biggest problem is trying to design my own header. I want it to look cool, but I can't seem to find something suitable. I might be coming to you for advice!! Like the new template, sara!
