Max

Headstone photograph

Max

Life was too short for me.
Not enough girls to kiss.
A good son and brother
But too handsome
And arrogant with it.
I liked the girls
But they all wanted one thing.
So did my mother.
But 28 was too young to settle.
And then I was consumed.

So young...how sad. Consumed. What did his tombstone read?

I love the fact that there are photos on the tombstones. It makes it less cold and anonymous. Makes their lives more real.

Yes, much too young to die without experiencing more of life. Your touching poem shows empathy and care, a lack you speak of in your next post.

Did you see a headstone for "Max" that prompted this poem or was it generally a result of that cemetery wandering in the previous post? Was his photo on the headstone or did you photoshop that to make this more personal? (I would think a photo would have not survived the elements.)
