Cats of Science

Taste Test

Guess which food is tastier?

My cats graciously participated in a science fair experiment of a 5th grader in my son's class. Since it had to do with free food they couldn't object. Unlike university science they didn't have to sign elaborate forms or go through an IRB (institutional review board) before volunteering. The question was did cats prefer the same old food they always eat or something novel. Well you can judge for yourself but my scientist alter ego sees some problems with this experiment.

Other than Dash is eating out of Dot's dish? (I love that photo. You can almost read Dot's thoughts.)

By the way, cats don't always prefer new food. At least mine don't...not very often anyway.

But, of course...Cats aren't stupid.

I think that's a great idea for a science fair project!

Thanks for touching off a series of 'science experiments' in my household with the L and the cats...

Although it was pretty funny!

Definitely a fun experiment. My cat doesn't always like to try new foods either, I'm afraid.

I think the study would be more valid with the tags not showing so the cats couldn't read them. Damn, back to the drawing board.

I feel so repetitive saying Oh I love this! But I do. Of course, as soon as they taste it, it is old. And then the old immediately becomes new. I notice they all most had a toodo there over the one bowl. I'm glad they solved that problem peaceably. Peacefully?
