Whingeing

IMG_8773

I feel like whingeing. I learned this word from the Harry Potter series. I assume it is a word used in Britain that hasn't been adopted in the US. Of course, Rowling could have made it up but I'm not in the mood to check on that. Whingeing means exactly what it sounds like it ought to mean. In a few minutes I have to enter 9 hours of professional cheeriness so my whingeing is done silently by post. It'll pass. Only 10 more days to vacation and sunshine. I had to shovel snow today (again) so sun will be on hold for a few more days. No crocuses or snow drops yet for me. Feel free to gloat if you have chosen to live in a place with a more felicitous climate.

On the bright side, Spring will most likely arrive earlier there than it will here.

Whingeing is a real word, used and practiced daily by many of my med school friends. Whinge ahead!

Whingeing is a fine term. It's used all the time in Australia.

It's also an enormously entertaining activity. I've done quite a bit of it recently.

Wow -- fascinating. I always figured it was just a British spelling of whine (since they mean roughly the same thing) but I looked it up at an online dictionary and found that it is pronounced "winj"! Thanks for teaching me something new!

It's also used in Ireland, far more than "whining." I still use it, to people's surprise and amusement, when I forget where I am.

Never heard of the word, nor do I know how it's pronounced.

Anyway, here in Phx it's about 85 degrees with promises of reaching the mid-90's by next week. Yuck for us.
