Life and Death Squared

Unity

Me seems the world is run quite out of square From the first point of his appointed source ; And, being once amiss, grows daily worse and worse. . . .

The Faerie Queen

Some one I know passed away this week and I'm going to the wake today. It is hard to be faced with other people's pain and the unfairness of the world.

I hadn't meant this to be a sorrowful posting but it just came out that way.

Squares are Everywhere

A round man cannot be expected to fit in a square hole right away. He must have time to modify his shape.
Mark Twain

Here are a few more examples of squares I've found in my photographic rambles.

Squared

Find a good idea and then claim it for yourself. That is the subject of this blog post. I found this great little book at my local used bookstore. It is hard to turn down an art book for $4.95. So of course I bought it. I fell in love with the photos of squares in all shapes and sizes and decided to make a photo series of my own found squares. Here are a few with more to come in future posts. I suspect circles will be next but you never know.

Spring Birding

Birds on a Tree

A series of storms came through today and yesterday and conditions were right to have grounded a lot of migrating birds, so I went out to the local nature preserve to see if I could get any pictures. The birds were there but I had a rough time getting any good shots. I'd love to blame the birds but I think it is the photographer's fault. I have shots of bird bellies, bird butts, blurred birds and absent birds that jumped out of the picture just as the shutter snapped.
