Having lived in the South for so many years it is difficult to escape the spectre of the Civil War. Interesting and unexpected images from Chicago.
Was it a unit memorial or part of a POW cemetery?
I never did my Memorial Day post this year (because of the wedding being the same weekend and thank you for your good wishes). You have a beautiful cemetery there. The statue is lovely. I feel the reverence. There was too much loss.
