Water
Still processing shots from last August's vacation.
We have a road trip planned for today but nothing this exotic. The plan is to drive north into Wisconsin and spend an overnight at the Dells playing at a water park. The raison d'etre of the trip is actually happening tomorrow which will be a tour of the University of Wisconsin, Madison. As the parent of a high school senior-to-be, college tours are going to be a major part of my summer I fear. The water park is merely the bribe to get my younger son to go along without more than a few hours' worth of whining.
Exotic or otherwise, expect me to bring my camera and have lots of photos to post.

Beautiful photo!
I understand about a little bribe to get younger son to go!
Happy Hunting for college and Photo Hunt :)
Great shot.
You'll find Madison quite different than this piture. It's a beautiful town. I used to live on the Isthmus, and set a fictional story I post on my blog there.
LOL - did the water park work - no whining? Nice, clear pic.
What a great great photo! And good luck on these trips. I remember those. They were fun and frustrating.
All of the Dells is currently a 'water park'. They re-enlisted the Ducks to rescue people from their homes last week...
Where are you going? Mount Olympus is the big favorite. L desperately wants to go.
As far as UW-Madison, try not to miss the Chazen Museum of Art, and if you can, get up onto East Washington and have a meal at Ella's Deli:

Hey, JL. We didn't see any water except a few damp parts in the corn fields.
I'll look for Ella's. Thanks for the recommendation.
Unlikely I'll get to the museum. The kids are not very open minded that way. Wish I could, though.
We went to the Kalahari. I've not heard of Mt. Olympus. If we stay another night (on the table now) I might check that out.
Larry, whining was cured by the water park.
Mt. Olympus is the place with the giant toilet bowl, which you get flushed down while riding a raft.
The kids love it.
My fault. The toilet bowl is at Great Wolf.
Eh, they all keep claiming they're the world's largest water park, and I lose track. Speaking of world's largest, I assume you're taking I-90. When you get to the world's largest can of Hormel chili, wave. I'm waving back.
an amazing shot! did you beat the floods in that area?
Wonderful capture!
Looking forward to your upcoming summer photos.
JL
I actually saw the Chili can!!
I would have waved but I only saw the comment after I got home. I really wanted to stop and photograph the can but sometimes you just have to keep your foot on the gas pedal. We only got home at 10:30 PM last night and today was a work day.
Ascender--see next post for flood shots.
Great photo. congrats on photo of the day for water! You rocked it! :)
Lovely! I've not been here before, so I'm very glad you made "site of the day". Congratulations!
just gorgeous .. love the vastness :)
This is really beautiful! You deserve to be photohunt of the week.
Gorgeous photo, Sarala!
With a senior-to-be, as well, I understand the college visit trips - but we are probably going to wait unti the fall when it is a bit cooler down here.

The view of lake with the mountains in the background is incredible. Great photo and perfect for the theme. What lake is it and was it cold?
